Greenville county has one of the healthiest real estate markets in all of South Carolina. Though property value averages are somewhat low, sitting at less than $190,000, most sellers are getting what they ask for.
A little more than 17% of houses in Greenville County will sell at a price cut, but that’s part of what helps the market move fast. Buyers jump on bargains, and many sellers feel the need to price their properties at a steal. When they do, buyers come and sweep them up.
Part of the reason properties in Greenville County are so inexpensive is that many of them are in bad shape. Locals don’t actively pursue a luxurious lifestyle, and they’re happy to leave their properties virtually untouched for a long time.
While that’s a perfectly acceptable choice to make, it doesn’t do much to raise the value of a house. Renovations may be necessary to help a property fetch top-dollar.
